Hi, I'm Leni. I began my journey with nutrition & wellbeing in my early 20's when I noticed the effects certain foods would have on my system. Some foods making me bloat and others making me feel heavy and unwell. At one stage in my early 30's I became extremely fatigued and depressed, my skin was inflamed, I suffered with migraines that lasted for weeks and horrendous PMS. The only guidance from my GP was the offer of prescription medication and painkillers. I eventually took matters into my own hands and by changing my diet and lifestyle I slowly became well again. Feeling better than ever.
Now in my 40's I have been migraine free for sometime, my PMS is largely non-existent and my overall health & wellbeing is far better than it was in my early 30's.
For the last 22 years I have been an advocate, student and practitioner of holistic natural medicine.
My desire to learn more about the human body led me to become a nutritional therapist. Qualifying with the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in 2017 (a couple of years before this photo was taken). This changed my way of being in the world. It helped me to understand my own body. How to read what my body is telling me and how to advise others on their route back to wellness and balance through holistic nutrition.
That same year I became one of the first nutritional therapists to work in residential and nursing care. Where I support elderly and vulnerable adults living with longterm illness. Building therapeutic menus and working closely with care and nursing teams.
Fast forward to 2024 and I have been working as a nutrition consultant within social care for the last 7 years. I speak at events and advocate for inclusive person focused nutrition, hydration and dining environments which encourage appetite and wellbeing.
Outside of the care home nutrition I have run a successful on-line clinic where my special focus is gut health and women's health. I also speak at festivals and events about supporting gut health and female health through diet and lifestyle.
There is more need than ever for practitioners such as myself who treat the body as a whole and guide people holistically. I give my clients the time and tools they need to become a more healthful version of themselves.
